WHAT IS MADE OF
Since 1978, Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) high performance polymer has been a dependable metal alternative across many industries. For medical applications, PEEK is valued for its strength, corrosion resistance, radiolucency and bone-like modulus of elasticity. The dental industry has taken note. First used in temporary abutments and healing caps, PEEK-OPTIMA polymer usage has been extended to other dental applications including long-term fixed and removable prosthetic frameworks.

Any multi-unit abutment can be used to mount prosthesis as long as matching lab analogs are available.
HOW IT’S MADE
Plastic overmolding can help reduce production time because the second piece is molded directly onto the original part rather than having to completely manufacture the two pieces separately and then assemble them. Over molding is also a very difficult process, requiring adherence to the very tightest of tolerances.
COLD PLASMA TREATMENT
Plasma treatment is the process of modifying a surface so that it may be bonded to or printed on. Often used on Teflon, rubber, or plastics, this process actually modifies the surface, leaving free radicals behind and allowing any material to bond reliably with glue or ink.
Our product is fully compatible with All-on-4® treatment concept by Nobel Biocare.
Computer-aided design (CAD) and Computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) are not ivolved in fabrication process.
The All-on-4 technique has not changed—the only change is the material substructure. Therefore, when the PEEK is used as the substructure for All-on-4, the Peek-Optima material mimics the behavior of natural periodontal ligament by providing a cushioning and shock-absorbing effect in the mouth, under extreme force.
